The International Professional Teaching Certificates (IPTC) Project concluded in Aden Governorate with a closing ceremony held under the patronage of His Excellency Prime Minister Dr. Shayea Al-Zandani. The event was attended by His Excellency the Minister of Education, Dr. Adel Al-Abbadi; His Excellency the Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Mr. Mukhtar Al-Yafaei; and Eng. Hassan Al-Attas, Assistant Supervisor General of the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY), who participated virtually, alongside a number of senior government officials, educational and academic leaders, and representatives of the supporting, implementing, and partner organizations.
The project targeted 200 male and female teachers from the governorates of Aden, Hadramout, and Taiz, enabling them to obtain the International Professional Teaching Certificate. The initiative aimed to strengthen teachers’ capacities, enhance their professional competencies, and improve the quality of the educational process through specialized training and qualification pathways based on modern professional standards and best teaching practices.
In his remarks during the ceremony, His Excellency the Yemeni Minister of Education commended the efforts made to ensure the project’s success, emphasizing that investing in teachers is a direct investment in the future of education in Yemen. He noted that high-impact capacity-building initiatives contribute to preparing educational professionals capable of keeping pace with modern developments in teaching and learning methodologies.
For his part, Eng. Hassan Al-Attas underscored the importance of investing in teachers’ professional development as a key pathway to improving education and enhancing learning outcomes. He highlighted that the project derives its significance from the pivotal role teachers play in advancing education, transferring knowledge, fostering students’ abilities, and transforming acquired knowledge and skills into a lasting impact that extends beyond the classroom to schools and communities. He also expressed his appreciation to all stakeholders and partners who contributed to the successful implementation of the project and the achievement of its objectives.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mogeeb Al-Fatash, Director of the Humanitarian Development Program, highlighted the project’s achievements and the high levels of satisfaction reported by participants, emphasizing the importance of the initiative and the quality of its outcomes in strengthening teachers’ capabilities and advancing their professional skills.
Dr. Mohammed Al-Nadhir, representing King Saud University, affirmed that educational capacity-building cooperation between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Republic of Yemen would positively impact the education sector. He noted that teachers would be able to apply the knowledge and skills acquired during the training program to their instructional practices, thereby enhancing the overall learning experience.
Participating teachers also expressed their appreciation for the valuable training and professional development opportunities provided through the project, affirming that the knowledge and skills they gained would positively influence their teaching practices and contribute to improving their performance in serving students and the wider community.
The International Professional Teaching Certificates (IPTC) Project was implemented with support from the Saudi Program for Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY), Hayel Saeed Anam & Co., King Saud University represented by the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies, and the Humanitarian Development Program (HDP), under the supervision of the Ministry of Education of Yemen.
