A training-of-trainers (ToT) workshop has been launched in Hadramout governorate for supervisors and trainers of the International Professional Teaching Certificates (IPTC) project.
Nominated by the Ministry of Education Office in Hadramout, the workshop targets 18 male and female trainers from the Ministry of Education Office on Hadramout coast and Hadramout University.

The workshop focuses on the professional teaching skills of the IPTC project. It is funded by the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen (SDRPY) and Hayel Saeed Anam Group & Co. and implemented by the King Abdullah Institute for Research and Consulting Studies on behalf of King Saud University and the Human Development Program, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education Office on Hadramout coast.

At the opening of the workshop, Mr. Hassan Al-Shnaini, Director of the Training and Qualification Department at the Hadramout Coast Education Office and the project coordinator, welcomed the participating trainers. He praised the supporting organizations for implementing such specialized programs that aim to enhance the competency and skills of teachers. He explained that what distinguishes this program is that it is a specialized program through which teachers can obtain international professional teaching certificates.

For her part, Dr. Wardah Al-Mohammadi urged the trainees to make the most of the program by developing their skills, which will positively impact their practical work. She also emphasized the importance of working as a team to ensure the program’s success.

Dr. Adel Barian, the project’s Executive Director, explained that the project aims to equip teachers with the 50 teaching skills that the project comprises. He noted that the project will contribute to improving the efficiency of male and female teachers in the governorates of Hadramout, Aden, and Taiz, and will enhance the effectiveness of the educational process, which will positively reflect on student outcomes. Dr. Barian then trained the participants on how to deliver the training skills according to the scientific principles on which the project is based. He urged the trainers to adhere to the trainer’s guide for each of the project’s skills. At the end of the workshop, Dr. Barian answered the participants’ questions and inquiries about the project’s implementation steps.
