Marib – Al-Jafina | The basis stone was laid for the “Al-Khairat” residential city project in Marib Governorate, which will provide 250 housing units for displaced persons.

The project is funded by Qatar Charity and implemented by the Humanitarian Development Program, with the presence of representatives from the local authority, the Executive Unit for IDP Camps Management, alongside representatives from supporting and implementing entities.

The project aims to provide an integrated living environment for displaced persons.

The city will include iron caravan housing units, in addition to a school with six classrooms, a mosque, a health unit, a training center, and camp administration.

The project also includes a main gate, a guard room, a surrounding wall, a water and sewage network, and an internal electrical network.

To ensure a suitable environment for the residents, internal streets and pavements, external lighting, a garden and green spaces, and a football field will be established, contributing to improving the quality of life within the city.

In his speech during the foundation stone laying ceremony, the local authority representative praised the humanitarian role played by Qatar Charity in supporting the displaced persons, stressing that this project is an important step in providing safe and sustainable housing for needy families. Meanwhile, the representative of the Human Development Program confirmed that the implementation of this project comes within the framework of efforts to alleviate the suffering of the displaced and provide integrated housing solutions.

It is expected that this project will improve the living conditions of the displaced persons in Marib, who face significant challenges due to ongoing displacement, by providing them with a more stable and secure environment.
